Vermeil Chains

Vermeil Chains

Gold vermeil sits in the sweet spot between plated jewelry and solid gold.

Our vermeil collection is crafted in Italy from .925 sterling silver with a 14k gold layer. The Italian manufacturing means tighter links, smoother finishes, and a feel that is noticeably different from mass-produced plated chains. Every piece is available in cuban link, rope, franco, and figaro styles.

Vermeil is the right choice if you want something that feels substantial on the neck without spending four figures. It will not turn green (the base is hypoallergenic silver, not copper or brass), and it holds its shine.

Vermeil is the sweet spot: .925 sterling silver core bonded with real 14k gold heft and polish without the solid-gold price. Choose the classics Cuban, Rope, Franco then dial in your fit from 18–26" and widths from slim daily to bold. Vermeil keeps color beautifully when you treat it right (avoid harsh), and our Lifetime Warranty has you covered if anything fades or breaks. Want a pendant? Aim for 2–4.5mm chains for the cleanest balance. If you’re between lengths, 20–22" hits the everyday look; stack with a Rope or Tennis for extra light play. It’s real metal, real presence, and zero compromises on finish. Check out our women's Vermeil collection for that someone special

FAQ

What is gold vermeil?
Gold vermeil is sterling silver (.925) coated with a thick layer of real gold (at least 2.5 microns of 10k gold or higher). It is a regulated term, unlike gold plated, which has no minimum thickness requirement.
How long does vermeil last?
With proper care, gold vermeil can last 2-5 years of regular wear before showing signs of the silver underneath. Avoid prolonged water exposure and store in the pouch provided. Our lifetime warranty covers fading regardless.
Vermeil vs gold plated: what is the difference?
Gold plated jewelry can use any base metal (often brass or stainless steel) with any thickness of gold coating. Vermeil specifically requires a .925 sterling silver base and a minimum gold thickness of 2.5 microns. Vermeil is heavier, more durable, and hypoallergenic.
